Are these tools really free?
Yes. No account, no email address, no card, and no usage limit. Nothing on this page asks you for anything before it answers. We make money selling prepaid calling credit and travel data. The tools are free because somebody who can check a price for themselves is the only person who ends up trusting it.
Can I link to these from my own site?
Please do, and no permission is needed. Each tool has its own address, works without an account and does not redirect anywhere. If you are writing about international calling or travel eSIMs and want a figure checked, or a number our data covers that we have not published, the address at the bottom of this page reaches a person.
What can the number checker tell me, and what can it not?
It tells you which country a number belongs to, whether it is a landline, a mobile, a freephone or a service number, and what a call to it costs on our card. It cannot tell you who owns a number, which carrier it is on, whether it is a VoIP line, whether it is currently in service or whether it is a spam caller. It is not a reverse directory and it does not run on lists.
Where does the pricing data come from?
A carrier rate deck of 164,406 prefix rows, parsed down past the country level to the individual number range, which is what lets a landline and a mobile in the same country carry different prices. Everything published is derived from that one file, so the tools, the rate card and the keypad cannot disagree with each other.
