03Know before you call
A few important limits
It cannot call emergency services.
Do not use Airlophone for 911, 999, 112 or any emergency number. Keep a mobile or landline for emergencies.
It may not receive security codes.
Some banks and services do not send verification codes to internet phone numbers. Keep your normal mobile number available for codes.
Your connection still matters.
A stable internet connection gives the call its best chance of sounding clear. A weak connection will sound weak.

Questions people ask before calling
Can I call a bank, airline or government office?
Yes. Airlophone places an ordinary phone call, so it can reach any published landline or mobile number we support, including phone menus and office switchboards.
Does the person I call need the app?
No. They receive a regular phone call. They do not need an account, internet connection or Airlophone installed.
Do I need to install anything?
No. You need a modern browser, an internet connection and microphone access. There is no app, download or SIM card.
How do I know what the call costs?
Enter the full number and Airlophone identifies its destination and number type, then shows the exact per-minute rate before you press Call.
What if nobody answers?
A call that rings out, is busy or does not connect costs nothing. Connected time is charged per minute, with part of a minute counting as a full minute.
