Why Airlophone exists
Airlophone was created by Fabio Jonathan to make international calling simpler and more transparent. Many banks, clients, airlines and government offices still require an ordinary phone call, even when the caller is in another country.
Airlophone puts that call in a browser and shows its price before it begins. Professional and Team accounts can also keep recordings, AI transcripts, call notes and follow-ups with the call record.
How pricing works
Airlophone is pay as you go. Calls use prepaid credit at the rate shown before you dial. There are no seat fees or connection fees, and a call that never connects is not charged.
Credit does not expire. Connected calls are billed per minute, with part of a minute counting as a full minute. Professional adds $0.02 per minute to the normal call rate, whether recording is on or off. Team accounts use Professional rates.
Prices vary by destination and number type. Rates for all 221 countries and territories are available on the public rate card.
What Airlophone does not support
Airlophone is built for non-emergency international calling. It is not a replacement for a mobile plan, emergency service, or full office phone system.
- No emergency services
- Airlophone cannot reach 911, 999, 112 or their equivalents anywhere, and cannot report your location to a dispatcher. Keep a phone that can.
- Caller ID may differ from your personal number
- Calls use an Airlophone number by default. Set up Verified Caller ID with an eligible number you own, or rent an Airlophone number for callbacks. The dialer confirms availability before each call. Institutions may still ask additional security questions.
- Rented numbers are not for verification codes
- A rented number can receive calls and texts, but it cannot send texts. Most banks and online services reject internet phone numbers for two-factor authentication.
- Premium-rate numbers are refused
- Ranges that exist to bill the caller heavily are refused rather than priced, so a misdialled premium number cannot run up a bill.
How we protect your data
We collect only the data needed to operate calls, billing, account security and support. The number you dial is not sent to analytics, advertising, or session-replay tools.
Call audio is not recorded unless recording is enabled. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and do not reach Airlophone's servers. Read the full details in our privacy policy and security overview.
